Love Island USA Contestant Alannah Keyser Removed for Using Racial Slur

Alannah Keyser has been removed from Love Island USA following the emergence of historic social media posts that appear to show her using a racial slur. A video surfaced showing her lip-synching to a song containing the n-word, along with screenshots of her using the same slur in an Instagram comment and Snap message.

The posts originated from a private account and were not made public until after Keyser entered the villa. Consequently, they were not flagged during broadcaster Peacock's vetting process, according to sources cited by US publications including Variety.

Keyser joined the series as a 'bombshell' during the mid-season Casa Amor twist, which introduces new islanders to challenge existing relationships.

She had been featured in the first 20 minutes of Thursday's episode before her exit was confirmed by the show's narrator, who stated, "Alannah has left Casa Amor." This incident marks the second removal this season due to racist language.

Previously, Vasana Montgomery was removed after videos surfaced showing her using the n-word. Montgomery later issued an apology on Instagram, stating, "In those videos, I used a racial slur. There is no excuse for it, and I am deeply sorry. I am embarrassed and disappointed by my words.

I take full responsibility for what I said and understand why it has hurt and upset people."

In the seventh series last year, two contestants were also removed for similar reasons. Yulissa Escobar left after videos of her using a slur in a podcast emerged. She expressed regret in a TikTok video, saying, "I get it. I said a word that I should have not said.

But I wish I would have never said that. It is what it is. I can't go back in time. I am sorry that I said that word." Cierra Ortega was also removed for using a racist term for Asian people, later apologizing for her lack of awareness regarding the term's offensiveness.
