Colombia's attacking momentum continued, with Arias attempting a shot that was cleared off the line by Ruben Neves. However, Portugal began to find their rhythm towards the end of the first half, with Bruno Fernandes missing a clear chance in the 39th minute, his shot saved point-blank by Colombia's Camilo Vargas.
