Pakistan concluded their T20 World Cup campaign with a decisive 37-run victory over the Netherlands at Old Trafford. In the match, Pakistan scored 126 runs for 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, while the Netherlands were bowled out for 89 runs in just 17.5 overs.
Gull Feroza was the standout performer for Pakistan, leading the batting with an unbeaten 63 runs off 52 balls. She was well-supported by Ayesha Zafar, who contributed 32 runs. Together, they formed a crucial 79-run partnership for the second wicket, which helped stabilize the innings after a shaky start.
Despite a promising start to their run chase, the Netherlands experienced a dramatic collapse, losing their last seven wickets for a mere 13 runs. Heather Siegers provided a solid foundation with 24 runs off 16 balls before being dismissed lbw by Diana Baig.
Babette de Leede added 30 runs off 41 balls, but her dismissal marked the beginning of the end for the Dutch side.
The Netherlands fell from a comfortable position of 76-3 to 89 all out in the span of just four overs. The collapse was largely due to the impressive bowling performance from Pakistan, with Fatima Sana claiming 3 wickets for 12 runs and Ayesha Zafar taking 3 for 13.
Fatima Sana's performance throughout the tournament was notable, as she ended with a total of 11 wickets, ranking second overall behind India’s Sree Charani.
This match not only highlighted Pakistan's ability to finish their tournament on a positive note but also underscored the challenges faced by the Netherlands, who ended the tournament winless. The victory allowed Pakistan to conclude their campaign with a sense of achievement, despite earlier disappointments in the tournament.
