Trump Introduces Limited Edition 'Patriot Passports' Featuring His Image

The Trump administration has unveiled a limited edition U.S. passport design featuring President Donald Trump’s image to commemorate America's 250th birthday. The new passports will be available starting July 6, according to the U.S. State Department.

In a post on social media, Trump shared images of the passport's pages, which depict him at the Resolute Desk with the Declaration of Independence in the background. His signature appears below the image. The White House also promoted the passport on its X account, referring to it as a "patriot passport."

Access to this passport is limited to American citizens, and it cannot be applied for online or by mail. Applicants must schedule an in-person appointment at the Washington Passport Agency or attend special acceptance events designated for the commemorative passport.

Currently, only two such events are listed, both at the Washington Passport Agency, with more events expected to be announced.

This passport marks a significant milestone as it is the first time a living president has been featured on a U.S. passport. The commemorative design was initially announced in April, showcasing a different design that displayed Trump’s face and signature in gold, without the numbers "250."

In addition to the passport, the U.S. Mint has announced plans for a commemorative gold coin featuring Trump, further celebrating the 250th anniversary. Trump is also set to become the first sitting president to have his signature on American banknotes.

This initiative is part of a broader trend where Trump has sought to leave a lasting imprint on American institutions, including previous attempts to add his name to prominent locations in Washington, D.C., such as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and plans for a massive triumphal arch, dubbed the Arc de Trump.
